With an in-built backup battery, the SmarTrack Cat 5 tracker ensures that the unit is still able to remain operational even in the event that the power supply to the vehicle is removed. It also has the capability to monitor the battery voltage level, and if the Driver Recognition System is activated, then it is capable of detecting this. If a vehicle theft does take place, the system has the capability of remotely immobilising the vehicle, but this is only possible at the request of the police.
